Shannon Morgan named Miss South Carolina for America Strong 2026

Shannon Morgan proudly served 25 years in the U.S. Army as a Flight Medic before retiring in 2022. During her distinguished military career, she completed three combat tours and was inducted into the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit for her contributions to military medicine and leadership. She currently serves as the Chief of Operations and Emergency Manager for Moncrief Army Health Clinic. In addition to her professional leadership, Shannon was honored as the 2024 South Carolina Mother of the Year through American Mothers, Inc. Together with her 14-year-old son, they co-founded “It’s Cool to Be Kind, Be a Leader” Spreading Kindness Through Leadership, providing wristbands reaching over 900 students, encouraging youth to lead with kindness. What began locally has grown into a movement reaching students across South Carolina, Colorado, California, Washington, DC, New York, Vermont, and Kenya. Shannon actively serves on several community boards and organizations and participates in local 5K and 10K races, completing 17 races to date in support of meaningful community causes. She is currently writing her upcoming book, The Lunch Note, inspired by the motivational notes she has written to her son every day since kindergarten. The book is scheduled to be published in Fall 2026. When she is not serving her community, Shannon enjoys Sunday trips to the zoo with her son and volunteering. After a lifetime of service to her nation, she now proudly continues that mission as Miss South Carolina for America Strong, using her platform to inspire kindness, leadership, and service in others.
