2024 Miss for America Strong
Miss North Carolina for America, Jacklyn Drake, from Charlotte, NC, was crowned the 2024 Miss for America at the annual Miss for America pageant held on August 26, 2024 at the Elvis Presley International Theater at the Westgate Resort Spa & Casino in Las Vegas NV. The delegates competed in three areas of competition, including interview, swimsuit, and evening gown. This is the 5th year of the national Miss for America pageant, the sister pageant to Mrs. America in its 48th year. Miss North Carolina for America is directed and produced by North Carolina Executive Directors Wendy and Fred Galle of Sherrills Ford, NC and is their fourth national title. Celebrating this occasion with Jacklyn Drake were her family and friends from around the country, her directors the Galle’s, former Miss for America’s, Mrs. America’s and Mrs. American’s to welcome Jacklyn Drake into this elite group of exceptional women who have come before her. The winner of Miss for America receives : A large prize package and an all-expense paid trip to watch the Mrs. World pageant.
Jacklyn Drake is a race car driver, sports reporter, live race host and she is a media strategist for NASCAR. Drake beat out other state contestants from around the United States and the District of Columbia, succeeding last years winner from California Candy Caceres. Drake has been racing cars since she was young and has amassed over 300 race wins and 5 season championships. Molly May of Alabama and Allison Redman of Florida were named first and second runners-up, respectively while Regina McDonald of Alaska, Bailey Staff of Michigan and Ricki Stewart of West Virginia rounded out the top six finalists.
“To bring home the Miss for America title to the great state of North Carolina has been one of the greatest moments in my life,” said Drake. “This past week, I’ve gained sister queens from all over the country and felt a profound sense of peace, trusting in whatever God had in store for me as I stepped onto that Elvis Presley Las Vegas stage,” she added. “I can’t wait to share my journey through this year of representing the Miss for America organization, spreading the word of Victoria’s Voice Foundation, and continuing to host book drives across the Carolina’s and all of America to give back to children in underfunded communities.”
