Mrs. Bonnie Goethals named Mrs. North Carolina American.
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Bonnie Goethals of Lake Norman in Iredell County won the title of Mrs. North Carolina American and the opportunity to represent her state at the nationally televised Mrs. American competition in August 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bonnie is a recent Guinness World Record Holder in stand-up paddleboarding, achieving the greatest distance of 520.4 miles on Lake Norman. Her journey on the water can be viewed at www.LKN520.com. Bonnie majored in Communications as an undergraduate and achieved her Master's Degree in Information Technology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She grew up as a military child and lived across America, including Florida, Nebraska, Alaska, Virginia, Washington, DC, Texas, and North Carolina (and beyond to include Guam). She has been married to her husband, Andy, for nineteen year,s and they share four children. Bonnie is the franchise owner of HOTWORX Lake Norman, a fitness boutique in her local community. HOTWORX is one of the fastest-growing national brands in the industry and the first ever fusion of heat, infrared energy, and exercise. She is also a proud parent to four dedicated athletes in competitive cheerleading, tackle football, cross country, and soccer.
